NORTHWEST BEND

Rivers Edge Village Homes for Sale

NW Bend homes are located in the treed, hilly area of Bend. Many homes for sale in NW Bend sit on larger lots, have stunning views and are built with custom construction. NW Bend includes the planned mixed use community of Northwest Crossing where many of the westside schools are located, as well as doctors’ offices, yoga studios, restaurants, shops and some light industrial buildings. Other popular neighborhoods in the NW section of Bend include Awbrey Butte, Awbrey Glen, Shevlin Ridge, Rivers Edge, West Hills, Shevlin Commons, Westgate, Tree Farm and more!

SOUTHWEST BEND

SW Bend homes are on both sides of the Deschutes River. The SW neighborhoods on the westside of the River include Tetherow, Broken Top, The Parks, Mt. Bachelor Village, River Wild, Widgi Creek, Braeburn, Westbrook Meadows, Overturf Butte, Skyliner Summit and more. Broken Top, Tetherow and Widgi Creek are planned golf and family-friendly communities. This section has easy access to Mt. Bachelor Resort and the sno parks during the winter and the high lakes for camping, hiking and water activities in the summer.

On the other side of the Deschutes River Canyon is also considered SW and includes neighborhoods such as River Rim, Aspen Meadows, Quail Run Estates, Elkhorn Estates to name a few. The neighborhoods in this area that parallel the river canyon do have access paths down to the river trail. Contact Carrie for more specific information about this area of Bend.

NORTHEAST BEND

NE Bend:  Pilot Butte State Park (pictured) is a landmark on the eastside of Bend. Homes considered in the NE section are generally east of Highway 97 and north of Pilot Butte along Highway 20 east (Greenwood Ave in Bend).

This area has a whole section that is within close proximity to downtown Bend and is very popular due to the larger lot sizes and older homes that can be updated over time. That area is referred to as “Midtown Bend”. Going a bit further east, you have several other key aspects such as two of the biggest sports fields/complex’s are located on the eastside of town. One is Pine Nursery Park and the other is called Big Sky Park. Most of the schools as well as the Parks and Recreation District use these fields for their sports programs. NE Bend has a different feel than the westside. The geography is more aligned with the “high desert” climate…..this means fewer pine trees, more juniper trees and sagebrush style terrain. Wide open skies and wonderful views looking west at the Cascade Mountains in Central Oregon.

SOUTHEAST BEND

SE Bend is defined as being south of Highway 20 East down to China Hat Road that borders BLM forest land and east of Highway 97.  This is a large area and the further south you go on the east side, the geography is closer to the west side of Bend with lots of Pine Trees.

The SE section is also home to the newest High School in Bend, called Caldera HS.  A new middle school is being built across the street and several new and newer Elementary Schools are within the SE Bend boundary. This area, like all areas in Bend, is expanding with lots of new home construction mixed in with older homes on larger lots. Some of the more popular SE neighborhoods include areas around the Bend Golf and Country Club, The Bridges, King’s Forest,  Orion Greens, Mountain High, Stonegate, Woodside Ranch to name a few.

There is a planned mixed-use area (being compared to Northwest Crossing in NW Bend) coming in the SE section near the area of Reed Market and 27th Street.  Carrie has lots more information to share concerning the growth around Bend, please contact her with your specific questions.

SW Bend Oregon: When exploring the neighborhoods in SW Bend on the westside of the river, there are fewer homes to choose from than in NW Bend. That SW section is closest to Century Drive and Mt Bachelor. The “other” SW section that spans the eastside of the Deschutes River offers many more homes to choose from and often with a lower price tag than the westside of the river.  But those homes still offer close proximity to the Old Mill District and downtown as well as the river trails and amenities. NE Bend Oregon Homes for Sale are conveniently located near some of the most essential places in town such as the Hospital and medical offices. There are more and more local restaurants and shops popping up along with the bigger chains like Safeway, Old Navy, Whole Foods, Barnes and Noble etc. Homes for sale in NE Bend will have a lower price tag overall and offer both neighborhood feel as well as larger acreage parcels. SE Bend Oregon is a rapidly growing area of the city, with many established communities that offer larger lots and new developments underway. Located east of Highway 97, Southeast Bend is home to Bend’s newest High School called Caldera.  A new middle school across the street from Caldera is also underway.
